Lakshmi Puja is performed in the evening. The devotees begin Diwali puja preparation by cleaning their house and decorating it with flower, mango leaves, rangoli, and lights. The first day of Diwali is celebrated as Dhantrayodashi – the day people buy gold and other precious metals. Second day of Diwali is celebrated as Narak Chaturdashi and on the third day, Lakshmi Puja is performed. On fourth day, Goverdhan Puja is perfomed while on the day five, Bhaiya dooj is celebrated.
