 Hinduism, Sun God is considered as the factor of life. We get light and energy from the sun. The worship of Sun God is prevalent in Hinduism. Sunday is dedicated to the worship of the Sun. It is believed that by worshiping Sun God and observing fast on Sunday, one gets rid of diseases and there is a rapid development of strength and intelligence. Of all the gods, the sun and the moon are the only gods that can be seen with the eyes. Sunlight protects from many diseases.

It is a religious belief that if one is not able to worship the Sun God every day, and then he should worship only on Sundays. By doing this, he also gets the fruits of the rest of the day. Positive energy comes into the house. Due to this, a calm and healthy environment remains in the family. According to astrologers, worshiping the Sun God also brings wisdom, prudence, strength, and splendor.

It is believed that by feeding bread to a cow, the Sun God is pleased. Therefore, to please the Sun God, every cow should be fed roti. If you are not able to feed roti to the cow every day, then definitely feed it on Sunday. Feeding roti on Sunday also gives virtue for the rest of the day. According to Hindu scriptures; the Sun God is very fond of red color. While offering Arghya to Sun God, a pinch of Kumkum should be offered in an urn filled with water and red-colored flowers should be offered to Sun God.

On Sunday, fish should be fed flour tablets. This brings prosperity and peace in life.

Doing this on Sunday is inauspicious

  • Try not to eat oil and salt on Sunday.
  • Meat and alcohol should not be consumed on Sundays.
  • One should not buy or sell items made of copper on Sundays.
